New Hot Tub Owner? Start Here: Your First 30 Days
Congratulations on the new spa. The habits you build in the first month set the tone for years of easy ownership. Here’s the game plan.
Week 1: fill and balance
Fill through the filter housing to avoid air locks, then balance in order — alkalinity, pH, calcium hardness, then sanitizer. Get a good test kit and learn to read it. Don’t soak until sanitizer is in range.
Week 2: build the routine
Start testing two to three times a week. Rinse the filter, skim debris, and wipe the waterline. Keep a simple log of your readings — patterns tell you a lot.
Weeks 3–4: dial it in
You’ll start to see how your tub behaves with use. Shock after heavy soaks, keep the cover conditioned, and note how fast sanitizer drops so you can stay ahead of it.
Decide how hands-on you want to be
Some owners love the ritual; others would rather just soak. If it’s the latter, a monthly service plan takes the testing, balancing and cleaning off your plate from day one. Either way, welcome to hot tub ownership — we’re here if you need us.
