Figure Eight Island is unlike anywhere else we service. There are no stores, no restaurants and no gas station — a private bridge, a guard gate and about 470 homes on four and a half miles of barrier island between Rich Inlet and Mason Inlet. The absentee-owner reality

Many Figure Eight homes sit empty for stretches, then fill with a large family for a week. That pattern is hard on water. A spa left covered and idle grows biofilm in warm plumbing; then eight people get in on a Saturday and the sanitizer demand triples overnight. The tubs that stay reliable are the ones on a scheduled visit through the quiet weeks, so the water is already balanced when the house wakes up.
